Jalandhar 28 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Senior dignitaries from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the giant IT services provider, visited the Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Jalandhar here. TCS has a global presence and caters to a plethora of sectors that range from banking, pharma, telecom and many more. The senior dignitaries, Mr.Rajit Sikka, Associate Consultant and Academic Relation Manager-India North, and Mr.Pankaj Bhardwaj, SAS consultant and Technical Architect, addressed the students on the various important aspects of the technological advances in the field of Telecom Convergence. This highly interactive session threw light on the most recent and pressing challenges such as skill up gradation, customer demand and satisfaction.
Mr. Rajit Sikka, emphasized the fact that the students should work towards striving a balance between EQ (Emotional Quotient) along with the IQ (Intelligence Quotient). Mr. Pankaj Bhardwaj, with an IT experience of over a decade, through his discussion, enlightened the students regarding all the major technical aspects concerning the latest and evolving technologies such as BIG DATA, DATA ANALYTICS, CLOUD COMPUTING, DATA MINING . He portrayed the importance of the various tools such as Spot fire, R, SAS, BI and Visualization tools that can keep the students abreast of the ever exploding skill set demands in the job market.
Dr. Amit Chopra, Assistant Placement Officer, GNDU, Amritsar, motivated the students to put more efforts and focus on specific domains, so as to outshine with flying colours, in the placement drives of various top notch MNC’s that visit GNDU.
Dr. Jyoteesh Malhotra, Associate Dean, GNDU, RC, Jalandhar shared his valuable views and knowledge on the fast-paced technological upgradations , such as IOT- the Smart City Concept, which are going to impact the most minor to the major aspects of our daily lives. The students were highly motivated and gained a lot of awareness by cross questioning, putting queries and interacting with the dignitaries regarding a lot of issues of the present day technologies, and also, in concern with cracking placements.
