KMV Dept. of Food Science & Microbiology put Food Stall

Jalandhar 22 February (Gurkirat Singh)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar activities to encourage innovation and creativity are organized from time to time. The latest in the list is the foodstall setup by the KMV Dept. of Food Science & Microbiology. The stall was inaugurated by Madam Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The students of the Dept. volunteered to bring various home made food-products and sell them at the food stall.  This could teach students practical applications of the food science they learnt in books.  It made teaching and learning innovative. The students applied concepts learnt by them like fermentation, preservation and fortification to prepare an exhaustive list of products like: Bamboo Pickle, Tomato Pickle, Peas Pickle, Turmeric Pickle, Arbi Pickle, woodapple Preserve, Bottle Ground Chutney, Dry Dates Pickle, Til Chutney, Gumberry Pickle, Mofins Til & Alsi, Alsi Turmeric Ladoo, Khoya Besan Ladoo, Amla Preserve, Ginger Garlic Hill Lemon Pickle etc.  Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi observed that the main aim behind the food stall was to equip the students with competencies of ‘entrepreneurship’. She congratulated the students at having successfully applied their theoretic knowledge to practical life.
