Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts brightened its shine by grabbing various positions in 32nd National Youth Festival

Jalandhar 15 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar brightened its shine by grabbing various positions in 32nd National Youth Festival held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. While representing GNDU Amritsar in this festival, students of the college participated in 8 competitions and established their fame by grabbing positions in all these items. The college not only won the overall trophy in music but also grabbed the Second Runners’ up Trophy. With its bone breaking hard work, the college pocketed first positions in Folk Orchestra, Group Song Indian, Percussion and Non-Percussion, Second Positions in Ghazal and Poster Making and third position in Classical Vocal and Western Vocal and Western Solo. The mesmerizing song which one the first prize, ‘Khushbuen Gul-e-Vatan Badhan Badhan Utar Aai, Kali Kali Khili Mili Jidher Jidher Nazar Gayi; won the hearts of the audience. The song was composed by college student Anadi Mishra and written by Om Parkash Sarangal and it got so popular that Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Banaras Hindu University also copied its composition and stood second and third respectively. Principal Dr. Sucharita congratulated all the winners and Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Arun Mishra for this great contribution in this enterprise. She said it takes huge amount of concentration and hard work to win prestigious positions every year in Youth Festivals. She extended her views that Youth Festivals provide a greater platform to all the aspiring students for their careers.
