Jalandhar 24 August (Gurkirat Singh)- CT Group upholds the importance of education of girls and rightly believes in the slogan “Stand up for Malala –Stand up for the girls’’. In order to pay tribute to Malala Yousafzai, an astonishingly brave 15 year old girl who survived an assassination attempt for her determined efforts to defend girls’ education in Pakistan, after the Taliban outlawed schools for girls in her native Swat Valley. CT Public School has augmented support to under-privileged girls by extending free education, guidance for skill development, coaching in a game of choice and stationery. While addressing the Press Conference Chairman of CT Group, S. Charanjit Singh Channi, has launched a benevolent project, ‘I am also Malala’ in the 20th year of its initiation. This noble venture has been embarked to provide assistance to the sixtien girls hailing from families who fall below the poverty line. Mrs. Suman Rana (Principal, CT Public School) said, “We, CT Group believe that no meaningful development of the girls can take place without enhancing literacy and promoting their educational standards. Education is one of the primary agents of transformation towards development. It improves the immediate living condition and increase the potential for future living. It also plays an important role in bringing tangible benefits by developing the skill of the people. It may expand livelihood opportunity and increase earning potential and thus help in tackling the problem of poverty at large.”
