Jalandhar 23 August (Jaswinder Azad)- The Edupreneurs Awards, 2017 were held at Chandigarh, amidst the elites of the education sector. The Awards were organized by India’s leading media and marketing group, Times of India magazine to recognize, celebrate and encourage excellence in education and learning. The endeavor was to recognize and reward excellence, innovative initiatives and exemplary work in the Education Sector in a spectacular style.
This year, the Edupreneurs Award ispresented to Mrs. Manpreet Kaur Bhogal, Chairperson &Dr. Vyoma Bhogal Dhatt Director, Ramgarhia Educational Council and Ramgarhia Institutions by Mr.Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister of Local Government, Tourism, Cultural Affairs, Archives and Museums Punjab As REC started with the aim of providing quality education to the children of backward and rural areas by Late Mohan Singh Hadiabadi who founded a primary school in Satnampura, Phagwara in 1929.
Today, REC, a non-profitable council of education, has various schools and colleges under its ambit. All the institutions have made a spectacular progress under the dynamic stewardship of Mrs. Manpreet Kaur Bhogal, President. It is managing around 16 institutions including schools and colleges offering a plethora of courses. With each passing year, REC is creating new milestones and is emphasizing on the intellectual, social and economic development of the communities, through teaching, research and creating a benchmark in educational arena. The
REC’s institutions offer both technical and non-technical courses such as Management, Computer Application, Engineering, Education, Health Sciences, Skill Development and Humanities. “The campuses of the institutions provide a rich, throbbing and exciting social and cultural life with enabling culture that promotes interest in fine and performing arts. All groups of colleges have institutional arrangements for capacity building through development of soft skills and value added courses which bridge the gap between expectations of the corporate world and the world of academia.Industry exposure is given to students through study tours and projects.To patronize, encourage and grant stipends to deserving young aspirants for higher education and specialized studies in technical subjects, REC is providing excellence centre where students can have the skilled knowledge. The basic impetus behind this is to make students job ready. REC joined hands with the companies to give competent and skilled knowledge to students. The council is focusing on employee development initiatives by conducting faculty development programmes on regular basis. .
Apart from this renowned actor Dharmendra was a student of REC and another renowned personality, famous singer Sukhwinder was also a student of REC B.ed College, Member Parliament England, Mr Virendra Sharma and Mr. Ujjal Dosanjh, Canadian lawyer & politician, 33rd Premier of British Columbia, proud alumnus of REC.PanditJawaharLal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India had also visited REC.
