HOD of Punjabi Department Dr. RB Singh retired after 39 memorable years of lecturership. All Professors of DAV College, Jalandhar bid farewell to Dr. R B Singh Singh on his retirement. The program started with staff secretary Prof Sharad Manocha welcoming all guests who came in the forum.
Dr. S.K Arora, Principal of the College, addressed Dr RB Singh as "Classic Teacher". Principal Arora said, "Prof. Singh is an ambitious, practical, knowledgeable, hardworking person and a professor who have made positive contribution in all fields." Principal Dr. S.K. Arora congratulated his senior colleague and said that the change is the rule of nature, but Dr. R.B. Singh will be remembered very much. For him the doors of the college will always be open and the college will always welcome them with open arms.
Dr. R.B. Singh has been a teacher activist and President of the Council of Jalandhar District of PCCTU of 5 times. He has also been the convener of PCCTU Coordination Committee of the DAV. During this, he did every possible work for the rights of teachers. In his farewell message , Dr.R.B. Singh remembered his journey from a small village to this great institution and the respect he received here and described it as incomparable and said that from a small village to such a large institution, this journey has given him many names and fame. He said that I worked for years and worked hard for the college and society, worked for the family. At this time, I will take advantage of my experience and do more meaningful work for my family and society in particular. Always remember work will be a higher flight than success. He further said that, I am working from so many years, I would still be working, I work because I get energy from it, my intellect gets sharp and I get an opportunity to use every talent hidden within me. People can have a positive effect on their ability, their knowledge and pre-empted success. And I can offer meaningful service in this way. Recalling his happy moments spent in college, Dr. Singh said, "If the time is pleasant, the good times and good memories shrink the time. From every day of college, I have learned something new, teaching has always been my hobby and books have always been my closest friend. I enjoyed the full term of my time. I am happy that I am in everyone's thoughts and I will be there. Thanking everyone, Dr. Singh said that he will always be lending to this love, affection and feelings.
Meanwhile, Vice Principal and Head of Commerce Department Prof. V.K. Sareen said that for man, his work is his worship and whosoever followed this path, he reached the sky. He said that during this long tenure of 39 years Dr. Singh has always been aware of his work. In the end of ceremony, thanks lines were presented by Prof Sharad Manocha (Staff Secretary), Prof. Amit Sharma (Joint Staff Secretary), and entire Staff of the college gave emotional farewell to Dr RB Singh.
