To increase the enthusiasm for unity in our country, Principal of DAV College, teachers and students ran miles for it

They took oath to spread unity to every corner of the country
Jalandhar 31 October (Jaswinder Azad)- On the 142  birthday of our first Home Minister of Independent India Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel. NSS unit,NCC wings and Red Ribbon Club of DAV College Jalandhar organised a Run for Unity.In this Principal of the College Dr SK Arora,Teachers and 300 students of this esteem institution took part in it.
Principal Dr SK Arora informed students that today the Indian Iron Man was born(Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel) and we celebrate this days as National Unity Day.From making India free of the Queen's rule to making independent India a strong country Sardar Patel had a huge role to play.His commitment to national integration in the newly independent country was total and uncompromising, earning him the sobriquet "Iron Man of India".His life, his work, his contribution and sacrifices for our country will never be forgotten. Sardar Patel brought the entire nation at one front, by the process of permoting "one nation, one constitution". His ideolgy for unity and country love is the biggest motivation for "The New India".
NSS unit Co-ordinator Prof SK Midha said that the reason behind this run for unity was to make students aware about the principals of Sardar Patel, he did his work as worship.Sardar Patel at a very young age decided to devote his life to our nation. Sardar Patel was given a note informing him of his wife's demise as he was cross-examining a witness in court. According to witnesses, Patel read the note, pocketed it, and continued to intensely cross-examine the witness and won the case. He broke the news to others only after the proceedings had ended.Through this we can see the dedication towards his work and country. NCC Major Sameer Sharma mentioned that we cannot forget the contribution done by Sardar Patel. On this occation Prof Meenu Talwar, Prof Sukhdev Singh Randhawa, Prof Rajan Sharma and rest of the DAV Staff was present.
