Jalandhar 3 February (Gurkirat Singh)- The first talk of the fifth of INSPIRE Camp at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - The Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar was delivered by Dr. S. Prabhu (Scientist in Ultrafast Spectroscopy Lab in Department of Condensed Matter Physics at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai). The topic of his talk was ''Optical Waves and Fan". He explained various types of waves. He discussed in detail the difference between various types of waves Mechanical waves, Electromagnetic waves, gravity waves sound waves, etc. He demonstrated the resonance phenomenon by showing video of standing waves in a flame tube of Rubens tube. He also explained in detail the appreciations of microwaves in transmission and heating oven, and also threw light on em spectrum and concepts of photons. The second talk of the day was delivered by Dr. A.K. Bakshi on ''Chemistry and its Importance''. He talked in detail about the growth stories of chemistry, the challenges in Chemistry Education, Drawbacks in teaching methods. He advised the students to think more and get clarity of concepts and try to get in depth understanding of topics. The third talk was delivered by Dr. Vimal Rath on ''Role of ICT and how it can change the scenario''. She talked about the need to change educational scenario, how technology can be helpful to enhancing the quality of education in 21st century and for that the focus should be on E learning. She said that the students should technology to take their content to the next level. She also motivated the students to enroll themselves for MOOC's (Massive Open Online Courses). She said that both the teachers and students should make use of technology. The proceeding of the valedictory session off with a recitation of Science anthem. The chief guest for the valedictory session was Dr. A.K. Bakshi (Vice Chancellor, PDM University), Mr. Chander Mohan (President Arya Shiksha Mandal) was the presiding dignity. Dr. Vimal Rarh (Joint Director Guru Angad Dev Teaching learning Center Delhi University). The welcome address was delievered by Principal KMV Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Principal Said that camp is an intense learning experience for the young minds. Principal congratulated the organizing committee for the successful organization of the camp. Mrs. Veena Deepak (Convener of INSPIRE camp) presented a detail report of the camp.Chief guest Prof. A.K. Bakshi (Vice Chancellor, PDM University), said that there is need to encourage innovative thinking and creativity among the students. The Presidential remarks were delivered by Sh. Chander Mohan (President Arya Shiksha Mandal). He said that young mind should think out of the box and develop a habit of asking questions. He said that the youth should have discipline and dedication in life to achieve success. The chief guest, presiding dignitary, the guest of honor and Principal KMV gave away prizes to the winners and certificates to the participants of the camp.
