Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus Selected as one of the Project Institutes for Imparting Entrepreneurial Education under Prime Minister Yuva Yojna

Government Officials from Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India (Prime Minister Yuva Yojna) started Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme.
 
Jalandhar 10 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus has been selected as one of the Project Institutesfor imparting educational education/training to students of the institution under Prime Minister Yuva Yojna, a centrally sponsored project being implemented by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
Today, the programme was launched in the campus by officials from Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India (Prime Minister Yuva Yojna). Ms. Monika Sharma, Nodal Coordinator, Noida, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India (PMYY) was the resource person for today’s programme.
The event began with lamp lighting ceremony by Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institution, Ms. Monika Sharma and other dignitaries. Dr.  Rajesh Bagga, in his address to the students stated that, “this project aims at equipping the potential entrepreneurs with knowledge and skill-set required to become successful entrepreneurs, connect budding entrepreneurs to enabling networks of peers, incubators, mentors and funding services. One of the key objectives is to bring a culture shift to support aspiring entrepreneurs”.
Dr. Bagga also stated that it is a great opportunity for the students and matter of a great pride for the institution as it is empanelled as a project institution for this lucrative initiative by honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narinder Modi Ji. He mentioned that today’s programme is going to help students acquaint with the help and support (technical, moral, financial etc) they are going to receive from the ministry for their entrepreneurial pursuits. Dr. Kulwant Kurdelivered the welcome address and also mentioned about the various activities and events organized by the institution for promoting the culture of entrepreneurship.
This was followed by address of Ms. Monika Sharma from the ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. She stated that the prerequisites for becoming successful entrepreneurs are knowledge, skill-set and ability to face challenges. She also encouraged the students saying that Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is very keen in helping students who want have entrepreneurial acumen. She also mentioned that under this course an E-Cell will be established in the campus. The Cell will be instrumental in carrying out such events as workshops, Internship fairs etc. Students from various specialisations like Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and IT will be part of this E-Cell. She cited examples of  successful entrepreneurs from India and abroad to stress her point that determination and passion can help anybody even a layman become an entrepreneur. She gave the example of world-famous Chef Mr. Vikas Khanna who hails from the city of Amritsar is today recognized as one of the best and sought-after Chefs of the world.
Ms. Monika Sharma also mentioned that other countries like Israel and United States have encouraged entrepreneurship and that in turn have given a great boost to their economies. Post lunch, she also interacted with the Director Dr. Rajesh Bagga, teachers and student coordinators of the institution and further encouraged them stating that being empanelled  as one of the project institutes, the students or budding entrepreneurs will receive full support from the government and ministry.
The enrolled students of Apeejay Institute of Management Technical campus will be divided into four categories: Enthusiasts, Wannapreneurs, Practicing Entrepreneurs and High Performers so that they can be provided the best offerings and services by the experts depending on their aptitude and skill-set.
The mentors will comprise successful entrepreneurs, well-experienced executives and recognized thought leaders from industry will impart  knowledge and skills to students. The facilitators who would comprise teachers interested and committed in teaching entrepreneurship to students will guide students in their entrepreneurial endeavors. The time span for the entire programme is two years and an optional third year. The students will be acquainted with such concepts as Idea Generation Techniques, Prototyping, Idea Validation, Entrepreneurship DNA, traits and gap analysis, Insights on Customer Segmentation, Testing Product to Market fit in these two years. It will also include outbound activities and practical opportunities including challenges, internships and apprenticeships.
Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus expressed his pleasure on the Technical Campus’ selection as one of the project institutes . He added that this project is going to help the aspiring entrepreneurs of Apeejay find their way to be successful.
