Two Days Workshop on "VIRTUAL LABS" organised by IIT Delhi at GNA University

Jalandhar 8 March (Jaswinder Azad)- GNA University in collaboration with IIT  Delhi organized 2 days workshop for the students of Engineering and Technology at the University campus. In June 2017, GNA University joined hands with IIT Delhi to become the nodal centre. A hands-on session of virtual lab was provided to the students of all Engineering branches during these 2 days' workshop. Virtual lab was designed in 2009 by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) to sustain the national mission of education by providing online access to various Engineering labs. The sole Objective of this workshop was to spread the information about virtual labs so that maximum number of students from various colleges can get benefit out of it.
S. Gurdeep Singh, Pro-Chancellor, GNA University shared his views about this workshop, “Such workshops are for the betterment of the students for learning the technological advancements going around in their domains.” He even said, “The main objective is to enhance the students’ knowledge by equipping them with recent technology through virtual labs interface which will also help them to achieve the “Digital India” mission of honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi.”
The resource persons Er. Prateek Sharma, Er. Ashish Rajan  from IIT Delhi provided the knowledge about the virtual lab and solved the raised queries of the students during the hands on training session of the students. Prof. V.K. Rattan, Vice-Chancellor, GNA University  expressed gratitude to have delegates  from IIT Delhi delivering workshop in the campus and also appreciated the efforts of Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) for providing Virtual labs designed by IIT Delhi to various colleges.
Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology also expressed gratitude to IIT Delhi for sending their resource persons to the University and also ensured that such endeavours of technology sharing will continue in future as well to make our students at par with IIT standards.
