Jalandhar 16 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Van Mahautsav was celebrated by Department of Environment Sciences, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. The Principal of the College Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra launched the Plantation Drive by planting Gulmohar trees. Speaking on the occasion Dr Samra said that the world was facing a serious environmental crisis today and it was need of the hour to sensitize students about environment protection. He encouraged the students to plant trees so as to protect environment. On this occasion students planted trees and pledged to take care of them. Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Head of the Department informed the present that the plantation drive would continue till 15 Aug, 2018 and tree plantation would be carried out in the college campus and surroundings. The occasion was witnessed by the presence of Prof. Manohar Singh, Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Prof. Vikram Singh Kahlon, Prof. Geetanjali, Prof. Surinder Mand and Prof. Ahuja Sandeep.
