Jalandhar 23 August (Jaswinder Azad)- The Department of Home Science of Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized a Guest Lecture cum Seminar on the topic “Gateway to General Health & Well being”. Noted Dietitian Vaishali Gupta featured as Resource person for the same. She focused on explaining the common myths prevalent in today’s young generation by citing examples from her personal life style. She emphasized on healthy eating and suggested the students to eat whatever is available locally and seasonally. Also, she suggested keeping realistic goals for ourselves as fad diets do more harm than good in the long run. Besides, she focused on common health problems like hypothyroidism and PCOD associated with the faulty food habits. The session proved to be fruitful for the students as lot of their queries were answered during the session. Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma thanked the scholar and lauded the efforts of the Department for organizing a beneficial session.
