Jalandhar 3 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Staff at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar today bid adieu to Prof. J.S. Rana, the head of the department of Geography. In a farewell function organized to mark the occasion, the college Principal Dr. G.S. Samra on behalf of the college staff duly praised the services rendered by Prof. Rana to the institution and the society. He described Prof. Rana as a dedicated and conscientious teacher. As per tradition, Prof. Jasreen Kaur, HOD English read out the citation for Prof. Rana on behalf of the college management. Dr RS Sandhu, Staff Secretary mentioned the fact that Dr. Rana served in this institution for 37 years and 8 months which also included his services as Head of Department of Geography, College registrar, Vice-Principal and also as the bursar of the college. Apart from his teaching duties, Dr. Rana also duly performed his duties for NCC which earned him the prestigious rank of ‘Major’ in the field of NCC. Recalling his 38 year long stint as a teacher in the college, Prof. Rana expressed his gratitude towards the college Management and his colleagues. The stage on the event was managed by Dr Rashpal Sandhu, the staff secretary which was witnessed by the entire staff of the college.
