A Three days Festival is going on at CT Group of Institutions, organized in association with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala
Jalandhar 10 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Lack of public bins, overflowing public bins, Underpaid Understaffed cleaning department, No accountability, Pathetic Waste disposal, Negligent fines for people who litter, munching on the streets, throwing the wrappers on the ground and others is the prominent scenario of our localities. At the same time it is the problem every resident is facing but cannot event stop them to carry out such unhealthy and immoral practices.
Highlighting this issue of general concern, a Play based of Solid Waste Management “Kachiraa Raakshas” was staged on the second day of Three days Theatre Festival going on at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus in association with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala while Bohemians Theatre’s Pupil Association coordinating the festival.
It was directed by Sh. Ayaz Khan of Saakaar Foundation & Parivartan Samodh from Gwalior and written by Sh. Alok Sharma. He said that there is a need to encourage art and art activities. Such events would help in doing so. “We are highly thankful to CT Group of Institutions for their support in organizing this theatre festival.” The play portrayed the Musical Belly where artists donned the characters of Mahatma Gandhi, Kachiraa Rakshas and the waste of Construction, Biological and Plastic. There characters raised the message that a small effort on our part can make the city clean.
Sh. G.S. Khaira (Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar) was also the Chief Guest for the day; he appreciated the organizers for giving stage to such activities of encouraging art and theatre.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “Every resident should feel proud and be careful of where they live this is the reason we raise awareness and proactively tackle this problem.” Besides, the institutions have always been on the front foot in performing CSR activities. This initiative is one of the milestones among such motivational and awareness activities conducted by them. On the third day, the play Babu Jee will be staged to enthrall the audience.
