Jalandhar 25 January (Jaswinder Azad)- To sensitize our younger generation about the importance of voting, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated National Voters’ Day and Republic Day with a lot of patriotic zeal and fervor. A rich and vivid colourful cultural programme was organized which highlighted the importance of voting and role of youth in nation building. Mr. Rahul Sethi, Assistant Prof. in Political Science enlightened the students about democratic sensitization of Indian Citizens. Students from BFA (Applied Art) through Poster Making expressed their views on patriotism and ‘Right to Vote’. The staff and students enthusiastically pledged together to cast their votes in the upcoming elections.
On this occasion, Principal, Dr. Sucharita motivated the students to cast their precious votes and contribute towards nation building. She said that students should not consider 4th February 2017 as a holiday but rather participate enthusiastically in the election process and exercise their right to vote. Students from B.Voc. (Theatre) and Sound Technology presented a skit and choreography highlighting the importance of voting. Riya, a student from BA through her speech motivated her young friends to utilize their ‘Right to Vote’. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
