Jalandhar 13 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions celebrated Lohri festival at loharan campus. The celebrations started by gathering around bonfires, offering sweets, puffed rice, and popcorn into the bonfire and by chanting of mantras. After offering prayers, Peanuts, Rewri and other eatables were distributed among all present on the occasion. Traditionally associated with the harvest of the Rabi crop, people celebrate Lohri, exchange of gifts, and songs and dance around bonfires. Large number of students and teachers performed dance. The programme ended with a pledge by the teachers as well as students to work for the protection of rights and empowerment of the women. Dr.Anup Bowry, Secretary, Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, addressed the students by wishing them happy Lohri.
