Jalandhar 21 January (Jaswinder Azad)- KanyaMahaVidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandharorganized a programmeGargi: IkDant Katha to mark the centenary celebration of the birth anniversary of the legendary figure ShriBalwantGargi. The guest speakers on the occasion were Sh. Amrik Gill (a renowned film personality from the Punjabi and Hindi Cinema) and Ms. DeepaSahi (a renowned actress and producer). The Principal of KMV Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended floral greetings to the guests. Ms. DeepaSahi said that she was elated to be in the oldest women college of North India. Sh. Amrik Gill narrated the episodes related to the life of Sh. BalwantGargi, a great literary figure. Sh. Gill said that Sh. Gargi was his guru and he shared a very close bond with him. He talked in detail about the experiences and memories that he cherished of Sh. Gargi. Mr. Gill said that great personalities like Sh. Gargi can never die and they will be always alive in the hearts and minds of the readers and well wishers. The Principal of KMV Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed gratitude to the guest speaker for sharing valuable information about Sh. Gargi and Madam lauded the efforts of the Department of Punjabi for the successful organization of the programme. The stage was conducted by Dr. Madhumeet (Dean, Student Welfare) and Dr. Harpreet.
