Jalandhar 19 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus organized Industrial Visits for the students The students visited Kalsi Metal Works Private Ltd. Private Ltd, and also Action Batteries Private Ltd., Jalandhar. The students were acquainted with the various manufacturing phases and also about the functioning of various units of the organisation. Mr. KL Kohli, Senior Manager, Kalsi Metal Works guided the students and informed them of the various processes and the working of the organisation. Mr. Gurjinder Singh was the representative from Action Batteries Private Ltd.
Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institute expressed that such industrial visits visits provide the students a hands-on experience of the functioning of the various departments of a company. The Industrial visits were a part of the ongoing Entrpreneurship Awareness Camp.
Post-lunch students had an interactive session with Mr. Ajay Kumar who is a social entrepreneur and Founder ‘Enovate Skill’ NITTTR Chandigarh. Mr. Kumar shared his experience of his startup which is based on Robotics. Besides Robotics, he is also working in the field of Renewable Energy. The resource person mentioned what prompted him towards entrepreneurship and the benefits of being an entrepreneur. He added that as an entrepreneur, he started from the grass root level with hardly any financial resources. But it was his will and determination that made him manage resources on his entrepreneurial journey. He added that capital is something one can manage with ease only if will nd confidence are there in an individual. The resource person and chief guest for valedectory session was Mr. Sudhir Gera, Director, IEC Kirloskar Gensets Ltd. Mr. Gera explained the concept of Lean Management to the students. He shared that Lean management is a widely-used approach that it is being used to run an organization which is supportive of continuous improvement and also a long-term approach to work in an organised manner and seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve their efficiency and quality. He said that the present competitive times make such concepts a necessity in the present times. He also cited examples of such organisations which are using this concept for effective functioning.
The valedictory session ended with a vote of thanks. Certificates were also distributed to the participants. He also mentioned that it must have given students an idea of various lucrative enterprising areas that students can delve into.
