APEEJAY SPARK 2017 organized at Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus

Jalandhar 21 February (Jaswinder Azad)- An inter-college event ‘APEEJAY SPARK 2017’ was organized at Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus. Around 450 students from thirty two colleges all across Punjab exhibited their communication, managerial and technical skills in various fine arts, literary and IT competitions organized during the event. Students vied for top positions in as many as 19 different competitions which included Ad Mad Show,  Debate,  Net Savvy, LAN Gaming, E-Art Mix, Logic Testing, Moving It Around The Slides, On the Spot Painting competition, Debugging, Street Play Competition, Folk Dance Poster Making and many more.  The event witnessed enthusiastic participation among students in all the competitions. The event started with a mellifluous bhajan rendition by Sahil Dewan of MBA IV and Jaspreet Singh of MBA II This was followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by honourable Director Dr Rajesh Bagga. Dr. Bagga in his address welcomed the dignitaries, jury members for gracing the occasion with their presence. He also conveyed his best wishes to the students. Dr. Bagga expressed that Apeejay Spark is held every year to provide young students an opportunity to bring out their innate capabilities. He said that such events are organized not only to provide a platform or to foster a sense of healthy competition among students but also to appreciate young talent and bring to students the level of excellence in various areas. The students were also acquainted with the academic and co-curricular achievements, placement laurels brought by our students and the research endeavours made by the faculty. After the inaugural ceremony, the students from various colleges showcased their potential in various competitions. The teams from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, BD Arya Girls College, D.A. V. College Hoshiarpur, D.A. V. College Jalandhar, HMV Jalandhar GNDU College Ladowali Road, Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, KMV College Phagwara, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar, SD College Hoshiarpur,  and a few others competed for top laurels in various competitions. The fest ended with a scintillating Bhangra performance by the students of the institution. This was followed by prize distribution ceremony in which all the prizewinners were awarded prizes and Certificates of Appreciation. Dr. Bagga presented momentoes to the dignitaries. Dr. Amit Sharma, Event Coordinator and Assistant Professor in Computer Applications proposed vote of thanks.
Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institution said that such competitions have great educational significance as they help unleash the inherent talent of the students and rekindle their passion and zeal for learning.
