Jalandhar 22 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar always keenly promotes the art and culture of the nation. The College also inculcated the love for the mother tongue Punjabi in youngsters. To mark the celebration of Mother Tongue Dy. Dr. Jagjeet Kaur, Director Youth Welfare Department, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar illumined the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Wariam Singh Sandhu, far-famed story writer enlightened the youngsters as the Resource Person and Mr. Satnam Singh Manak, General Secretary, Punjabi Jagriti Manch and Mr. Deepak Bali, Secretary, Punjabi Jagriti Manch graced the occasion with their benign presence. Dr. Wariam Singh Sandhu shared his views that our hard efforts are required to boost up the love and affection for our Mother tongue in youngsters as they are adopting western cultures and languages quite rapidly. Mr. Satnam Singh Manak and Deepak Bali also emphasized the importance of Punjabi language in the contemporary world. Principal Dr. Sucharita highly appreciated the efforts of the department of Punjabi to organize such an enlightening seminar. She said to become a successful race of the world first we need to give the immense respect to our Mother Tongue Punjabi.
