Jalandhar 24 February (Gurkirat Singh)- The record for the 100ft long sandwich has been finally made the students of CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) under the patronage of CT Group and Limca Book of Records. A giant (100ft) sandwich was prepared by students of CTIHM on Friday at CT Shahpur Campus. A flagship Hotel Management Institute of CT Institutions organized a Mega Record Making Event, the event was to set up the landmark by preparing the longest sandwich of the state to promote the saying “Go vegetarian Go healthy.” In this event a 100 ft. long nutritious and healthy vegetable sandwich was prepared by the students of CTIHM under the supervision of food experts from the industry, wherein all the quality products of food coast were used. They used a single 100 bread loaf for the Sandwich. The motive behind organising such an event was to go for the vegetarian food which is good for the health and not to use animal meat. Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, CTIHM) informed that the event was basically a Live preparation of 100 ft. long healthy veg. sandwich in which the crowd including students and food lovers learned and seek the knowledge of preparing a healthy sandwich. They tasted it and enjoyed the event a lot. The institutions have marked their place in the Limca Book Records. Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said, “I really like the concept of Live preparation of food. This effort not only teaches the healthy way to prepare food to the society, food lovers and students but at the same time it engrossed their interest towards the cooking. We have sent our name for World Records for preparing state’s longest Sandwich.” Mr. Singh said, “I am happy that our institutions are working for the society. We always try to come up with something different and interesting but constructive to accomplish our Corporate Social Responsibilities.” This is second record-making initiative following 30ft Longest Sandwich last year. The event was held in partnership with Food Coast.
