KMV Professor Participated in World Poetry Festival at Ahmedabad

Jalandhar 12 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Mrs. Seema Jain, Head of the PG Dept. of English recently participated in the World Poetry Festival at Ahmedabad. The event was organized by Shabdlok Trust supported by Giyarat Vidyapeeth and J.G. School of performing Arts, Ahmedabad. Poets from 14 countries of the World including Russia, US, Spain, France, Israel, Iran, Madagaskar etc. and from places all over India like Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Jammu, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh participated in the event and presented their poems in their own languages and then in English. Mrs. Seema Jain, who writes poems and short stories both in English and Hindi presented her poems in both the languages. Mrs. Jain has been participating in Kavi Sammelan and Kavya Goshthis and other creative programmes on Doordarshan and All India Radio for a long time.  Her poems have been widely published in reputed magazines, newspapers.  Besides the publication of her own anthologies of poems. She was the only poet, besides Dr. Kirti Kesar from Punjab. Her poems recite in English and Hindi were well-received and richly complimented by the audience, which comprised seasoned poets endowed with a profound poetic sensibility.  Her English translation of Dr. Kirti Kesar’s poem ‘A Letter to Dada Ghalib’, was also highly appreciated.  She attributed the credit for her achievements to the constant support & motivation from KMV Principal Prof. Atima Sharma who is a role-model herself. KMV Principal, Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her heartfelt appreciation of Mrs. Seema Jain’s poetic endeavours and congratulated her for this magnificent achievement. She also extended her best wishes to Mrs. Seema Jain for creating never milestones in her literary pursuits.
