Jalandhar 12 April (Gurkirat Singh)- Eklavya School Jalandhar observed ‘World Cosmonautics Day on 12th April 2017. Cosmonautics Day is an anniversary celebrated in Russia and some other former USSR countries on April 12. In 2011, April 12 was declared as the International Day of Human Space Flight in dedication of the first manned space flight made on April 12, 1961 by the 27-year-old Russian Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Since 2001, Yuri's Night, also known as the "World’s Space party" is held every April 12 worldwide to commemorate milestones in space exploration. This day was observed among the students in order to make them aware about the importance of this day. The Senior School Students were shown video on ‘Space Flight’. The Chairman of the School, Mr. J.K. Gupta said that such kinds of days should be observed among the students as helps in enhancing the knowledge of the students. The Director, Ms Seema Handa said that such kind of educational videos make the students practical in their life. The Principal, Ms Dimple Sharma appreciated the efforts put by the children in observing this day under the guidance of the educators.
