Chandigarh 29 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Moving forward in its pursuit towardsDigitizing India while empowering our education system, India’ First Finishing School on Wheels was flagged off by H.E.Shri. V P S Badnore, Governor Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh (UT). This vehicle has unique features having digital board of lectures on Personality Development, Soft Skills, Live Videos, Communicative English learning mechanism, lectures for 500 youth at one time after extending its external screen and audio video system while moving around in any area of Tricity to help particularly weaker sections of the Society youth who are shy, do not come out of their shells or even when they dropout from their studies..
Addressing the audience, Honorable Governor Punjab & Administrator UT said that Digital India program is the backbone of digital learning for the youth of India.Digital education is breaking the numerous barriers that are preventing for students in rural India from receiving quality education in the physically bound classrooms. He appreciated the unique concept of ‘Finishing School on Wheels’ by ITFT College and said that we all will The Roadmap on Tricity Digital Empowerment & LifeManagement Skills (LMS) Book researched by ITFT College was released by Hon’ble Governor Punjab & Administrator UT, Sh. V.P Singh Badnore along with other dignitaries present at the podium. A National Integration song prepared by ITFT College was also released on this occasion which is written, sung, directed& composed by ITFT College students.
The eminent resource personsMr. Ashok Chandavarkar, (Regional Manager AsiaPacific - Education, Healthcare & Government at Intel Corporation), Prof. K. Srinivas (Professor, ICT NUEPA, Ministry of HRD), Dr. Angel Ratnabai(ICT & Training Division, Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), N.C.E.R.T, Ministryof HRD), Imran Khan - App Developer,Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar(PCS, Director School Education - Department of Education, Chandigarh Administration, U.T and DG- ICSI addressed the conference.
A technical session on mobile apps in education was also conducted by ICT & Training Division, Central Instituteof Educational Technology (CIET), N.C.E.R.T,ICT NUEPA, Ministry of HRD and Mr. Imran Khan (Education App Developer). The Principals, Counsellors andTeachers from various schools of Tricityalso participated in this conference.
A technical session on ICT and its implementation in 21st century was conducted by self-taught web developer and a mathematician by profession, Shri. Imran Khan, who shared his valuable experience of developing over fifty-two Education Apps and hundred websites which he dedicated to students free of cost. He also insisted on making teaching interesting through the use of ICT and online available resources.
