Jalandhar 9 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Today, 9th December 2017, A three days National Seminar on the Topic ‘A Study of Manuscripts: Punjabi Literature and History” was successfully concluded. The Seminar was sponsored by National Mission for Manuscripts, New Delhi. On this occasion, Sh. Santokh Singh Chaudary, MP, Jalandhar was present as chief guest of the day. Dr Kirandeep Singh was the chair person for the fifth Technical Session. On this occasion, Director of Trinity College Rev. Fr. Peter, by Rev. Fr. Johnson, Rev. Sr. Reeta, Rev. Sr. Prema and Principal Assistant Professor Ajay Prashar. The Director of the seminar,Assistant professor Ashok Kumar, Convener Assistant Prof. Baljeet Kaur and Co- convener Assistant Prof. Malkiat Singh, Prof Jessy Julian, Prof Puja, Prof Pratibha, Prof Parminder Kaur, Prof Daljit , Prof Karanvir and all faculty members were present. Ass t Prof Ajay Prashar , Principal of the college gave a warm welcome to all the dignitaries , resource persons and scholars present over there. The Chief guest of the day congratulated Trinity college for taking such a great initiatives in the field of Manuscripts. Prof Ominder Johal also talks about the importance to preserve these manuscripts for the welfare of future generations. At the end of the event, Certificates and trophies were given to the paper presenters and delegates. The seminar was commenced on 7th December 2017. The Keynote speaker was Dr. Raj Kumar Hans, The Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. Dr. Dharam singh also shared his precious words on the topic. Dr. Gurpal Singh Sandhu was the chairperson of the first session. Dr. Manjinder Singh , School of Punjabi Study, GNDU, Amritsar, Dr. Sarbjeet Singh, I.K. Gujral PTU, Kapurthala, Dr. (Mrs.) Savinder Pal , Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana, Dr. Kirandeep Singh, School of Arts & Languages, LPU were chairpersons for the different sessions. This topic holds interdisciplinary importance in Computer science, Commerce and etc. Regarding the topic we have already received 35 research papers which were presented in the seminar. The different Paper presenters were Dr. Navjot, Dr Surinder Saini, Dr. Surinder Narula, Dr. Harpreet, Dr Vinod Kumar, Prof. Mandeep, Dr. Sunil, Mr. Navdeep Singh, Prof Harkamal, Dr. Muhabbat, Prof Jessy Julian, Dr Harjit. The Seminar focuses on the importance of the manuscripts and need to preserve them. This seminar inspired the young generation to research on the topic so that different unexplored aspects can be explored. Eminent scholars of different universities congratulated Trinity college for its great initiative to organize a seminar on such a rare topic. Prof Baljit Kaur expressed her gratitude towards all the dignitaries present there. Chief Guest Shri Santokh Singh Chowdhry ji announce a grant of 5 Lakh for Trinity College. The program concluded with National Anthem.
