Jalandhar 1 February (Gurkirat Singh)- On a special drive launched upon the directions issued by Sh. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) against the anti social elements under the supervision of Sh. Balkar Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation and Sh. Surinder Mohan, PPS, DSP/Investigation, the Jalandhar (Rural) Police achieved a major success when on 30-01-2018, on a secret information Inspr. Shiv Kumar, In-charge CIA-2 alongwith his team arrested contract killer namely Kulwant Singh s/o Onkar Singh r/o village Mehatpur, PS Sadar Hoshiarpur and his accessory Rajinder Kumar @ Raju s/o Avtar Singh r/o Ram Colony Camp, Chandigarh Road, Hoshiarpur who duly armed with weapons on 26-01-2018 at about 06:30 AM came in 02 cars (Skoda & Alto) and shot NRI Makhan Singh s/o Sarwan Singh r/o Kotli Khakhia, PS Goraya and fled from the spot. The bullet hit on the thigh of Makhan Singh. Due to the celebration of Republic Day-2018, the security arrangements in the area were tightened due to which accused panicked and left their Skoda about 2/3 kilometres away from the spot of incident and fled in the Alto Car. In this regard case FIR No. 13 dated 26-01-2018 u/s 307 IPC, 25 Arms Act, was registered against unknown persons in PS Goraya. During the preliminary investigation accused Kulwant Singh revealed that one Jaswinder Kaur daughter of Amrik Singh r/o village Rurka Kalan, PS Goraya, who is presently residing in Vancouver, Canada and is the second divorcee wife of Makhan Singh is in contact with him through Mobile Phone & Whatsapp. He further revealed that she gave him Contract of Rs. 2.5 lac in lieu of killing his divorcee husband Makhan Singh. Kulwant Singh alongwith his friends Arun Kumar @ Joga s/o Raj Kumar and Suraj Nath s/o Prem Nath resident of villge Bajwara, district Hoshiarpur and Satta & Bhola resident of Nakodar attacked on Makhan Singh but luckily Makhan Singh survived and received bullet injury in his thigh. Thereafter, Rajinder Kumar @ Raju informed PS Sadar, Hoshiarpur regarding registration of FIR in connection with theft of Skoda Car. Accused Joga, Suraj Nath, Satta and Bhola are still at large. However, all out efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused. Jaswinder Kaur paid an advance amount of Rs. 1.5 lac to Kulwant Singh in lieu of murder of his Ex-husband Makhan Singh who further distributed Rs. 50 thousand to Suraj Nath and Arun Kumar @ Joga and Rs. 50 thousand to Satta and Bhola and kept Rs. 50 thousand with himself whereas an amount of remaining Rs. 1 lac was to be paid to him by Jaswinder Kaur after the completion of the task. In this regard Section 120-B IPC has been added against Jaswinder Kaur and shortly proceedings will be initiated for her extradition.

1. Accused Kulwant Singh (Aged about 30 Years) s/o Onkar Singh r/o village Mehatpur, PS Sadar Hoshiarpur revealed that his education qualification is 10+2 and he is unmarried. He is a farmer by profession and he is having one sister. He also revealed that earlier also a case FIR No. 124 dated 28-11-2012 u/s 307/324/148/149 IPC was registered against him in PS Sadar, Hoshiarpur. He further revealed that he distributed Rs. 50 thousand to Suraj Nath and Arun Kumar @ Joga and Rs. 50 thousand to Satta and Bhola and kept Rs. 50 thousand with himself out of which he has spent Rs. 20 thousand. Accused Rajinder Kumar @ Raju (Aged about 30 Years) s/o Avtar Singh r/o Ram Colony Camp, Chandigarh Road, Hoshiarpur revealed that he is married and is having 02 children. His educational qualification is Matriculation and he runs a sweet shop. He further revealed that he lodged a false report in PS Sadar Hoshiarpur regarding theft of Skoda Car.
