Dr. Gurbakhsh Singh Bhandal was duly welcomed to the Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar 14 July (Jaswinder Azad)- The Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College has always continued its hefty contribution to Punjabi language, literature and culture. The same trend has rolled on at the start of the new academic session with the Department of Punjabi organizing a ‘Meet and Greet’ program with Siromani Writer Awardee and Overseas Punjabi Literary personality Dr. Gurbakhsh Singh Bhandal. He was duly welcomed to the college by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, Post Graduate Department of Punjabi with a bouquet of flowers and a momento. In his address, Dr. Bhadal shared various experiences and facets of his literary journey whilst also presenting some of his selective compositions in verse. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra reiterated the institution’s commitment towards the cause of Punjabi Literature and Culture. He also recalled the time spent by Dr. Bhandal in the college as a faculty member in the years leading upto 1977. The program was managed from the stage by Dr. Surinder Mand while the program was also witnessed by the faculty of Punjabi Department namely Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Prof. Kanwaljit, Prof. Amandeep, Prof. Gulzar Singh, Prof. Gurjit Kaur, Prof. Wahid, Prof. Kuldip Kaur Dosanjh, Prof. Sharanjit and Prof. Ahuja Sandeep from the Department of English.
