HMV organized Valedictory Function for outgoing classes

Jalandhar 23 April (Bureau)- A valedictory Havan Yajna was performed in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya to seek the blessings of the Almighty for the outgoing students of UG and PG classes. A Farewell function was also organized.  The programme began with lamp lighting and a welcome of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and the judges of the day.  Students presented various items like Folk Song, Group Dances, Modelling and played games.  On the basis of their performances, students were shortlisted.  The staff members also presented a dance to entertain the outgoing students.  The entire mood was of fun and frolic with students attired in colourful, bright dresses. Ms. Lipika, M.Com. Sem. II and Sapna, B.Com. Sem. IV gave their best wishes to her seniors and prayed for their well being in the future.  Ms. Bhawna, M.Com. Sem. IV and Ms. Amrit the Head Girl of the college gave the farewell speech.  They became nostalgic and promised to abide by the values imbibed in this institution.  They thanked Madam Principal and the teachers for their constant support.    Dean Student Council Mrs. Archana Kapoor also blessed the students.
Principal Dr. Sareen gave her blessings to the students.  She emphasized that our students are an inseparable part of the DAV institutions.  She reposed faith in them and believed that they would stand the test of time on the basis of values ingrained from this institution.  She also guided them to win over their weaknesses so that they could become better human beings.
During the Vidya Jyoti Aadan Pradan, the seniors gave the traditional symbolic Jyoti to their juniors wishing them good luck for the future.  The judges of the day for PG level were Dr. Santosh Khanna, Dr. Adarsh Khanna and Mrs. Mamta and for UG level were Mrs. Navroop, Mrs. Purnima and Miss Shallu Batra.  During the coronation ceremony for UG students Upasana was crowned Miss HMV 2016, Chitwan became first runners up, Rapinder was second runners up, Kamna got the title of Miss Ethnic Wear, Arushi became Miss Stylish. For PG level Inderjit Kaur was crowned Miss HMV 2016, Deepika became first runners up, Rabinder Kaur was second runners up, Ramandeep Kaur got the title of Miss Ethnic Wear, Shivani Mehan became Miss Stylish and Sarpreet became Miss Talented.  She was also given the title of Miss Punctual. The programme ended with best wishes card distribution.  Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Mrs. Urvashi, Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Nidhi Kochhar and Mrs. Mukti Arora conducted the stage.
