Jalandhar 11 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar where upgrading of faculty is a routine feature faculty development programme is an annual feature towards the end of May. Mr. Pardeep Arora Asst. Prof. Dept. of Computer Science gave his expert talk on “Managing Bibliography and Reference papers. The talk was full of demonstration of various tool required to manage bibliography and reference papers. Mr. Pardeep Arora elucidated on how with the help of these tools one can manage a large group of research papers, organise them on basis of key words, authors, years of publication and publication for as. These tools help cite references and bibliography using formats very easily. Search engines and techniques for searching research papers and books from the internet were also explained in detail. He also talked about various types of plagiarism and how these could be avoided
The next in the series of faculty development programme was lecture by Ms. Poonam Sharma ( Asst Prof. P.G. Dept. of Music). She gave a presentation on “Journey of Women in Indian Cinematic Music : Special Context of Playback Singing” w.e.f. 1913 to the present time she entertained and informed the students simultaneously. She also sang a few old melodies and new songs too. The struggle and challenges faced by women in the field of music were also an important part of the presentation. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the faculty for making efforts to upgrade themselves.
