Jalandhar 20 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar, Dr. Archana Saini, Asst. Prof. in Dept. of Zoology has been sanctioned a major research project entitled “Multidimensional investigation on Aprostocetus purpureus, a resurgent parasitoid of Indian lac insect, Kerria lacca (Kerr) for devising lac crop management strategies” with the total grant of Rs.28.5 lakhs by Dept. of Bio-technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi, under DBT-Bio CARE Women Scientist Scheme. She is working on identification and characterization of semio-chemicals for management of endoparasitoid, A Purpureus, a recent threat to lac crop and will develop sensitive and reliable molecular techniques for detection and identification of these parasitoids. The Principal of KMV Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated her on this achievement.
