Jalandhar 2 August (Jaswinder Azad)- On the occasion of Van Mahotsav the students and staff of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar celebrated the festival by planting saplings in the premises of the college. The function was conducted by the Social Sensitization Club of the college. Speaking on the occasion, the principal of the college, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra motivated the students to come forward and actively participate in this abhiyan. He also spoke about the importance of green and clean environment. He urged the students to spread awareness in and around their neighborhoods about benefits and protection of tress. The students took oath to plant as many saplings as they could and encourage others to plant as well. Senior faculty members College Registrar Prof. J.S. Rana, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Prof. Baldev Singh also planted saplings and adopted tress within the vicinity of their respective departments.
