Young Director won award at the International Online Film Festival for ‘Sangraand’ in the SikhNet Film Festival, United States.
Jalandhar 30 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Indeed, it is a proud moment for Sukhmanjot Singh and the team of Sangraand, a short movie who won the Sikhnet Film Festival for the year 2016. The film festival is organized every year as International Online Film Festival by Sikhnet, a religious philanthropic organization based in New Mexico, United States. This 18 minute 36 seconds short film is referred as the beautiful musical score and cinematography accompany this film by the Sikhnet. The winner is felicitated with the prize money of $1000. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) appreciated his efforts and encouraged him to keep striding and achieving as much as he can.
Sukhmanjot Singh (Video Editor, CT Group of Institutions) registered online for the film festival. In which about 18 films across the world including USA, England, Canada and others competed. Sharing his vision, he said, “As this heart-warming film explores the connection between the vibration of Gurbani and the elements of earth. It follows a classical musician as he travels to a small village that has been suffering from an extended drought. The movie asks the question whether our natural processes are simply natural. Or can prayer and devotion positively impact the environment?”
“I am highly thankful to my team and for their great support & undying efforts,” he said. The actors showcased their dynamic performance were Sukhbir Singh, Manjit Mann, Hartarman Singh (Child Artist) and others while he Directed and edited the film. His family has always been his side and motivated him throughout, his father S. Kamaljit Singh is the producer while his brother Roohani Bhatia has written the Script of the film. His previous two films, Simran of Courage and Gurmukh won the film festival in 2014 & 2015 respectively.
