Jalandhar 15 September (Jaswinder Azad)- The 3 days’ introductory workshop on Universal Human Values & Ethics (UHVE) is being organized by IKG Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala at Ramgharia Institute of Engineering & Technology (RIET), Phagwara from 15th -17th Sept. The participants of the workshop are teachers from host College.
Board of Governors of IKG PTU has initiated a sensitization project. In this project, all the faculties of the affiliated colleges will be sensitized on UHV. For this, International Resource Center for Universal Human Values & Ethics (IRC-UHVE) need to conduct 3 and 8 days workshops for all the colleges. To cater to this, there is a need to prepare teachers of UHV who can develop themselves to conduct 3 days workshops of the teachers.
In this regard, IRC-UHVE is organizing a 3 days’ workshop for teachers. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. S. S. Ahluwalia, Director, IRC-UHVE. He focused and expressed his values regarding the need of value education in our education system. He deliberated that the basic cause of these problem are that human didn’t recognize the relationship with the human as well as nature that’s why the human is doing the unethical work during his life time. He shared that all of us need to work on it. We will have to start from our individual level and then from family to society to nature.
Further he shared about the PG programs running at IRC-UHVE. He shared about the PG Diploma in UHVE for preparing resource person and M.Tech in Holistic Development-Systems & Technologies (HD-S&T) to develop students as entrepreneurs. Dr. Vyoma Bhogal Dhatt, Director, RIET, Phagwara welcomed the participants. She shared the implication of this workshop in the teachers and students as this workshop leads to a conducive environment in the institution.
Dr Naveen Dhillon, Principal RIET, addressed the participants and encouraged them for taking active part in the initiative taken by university for the development of the faculty and students by inculcating human values and ethics as RIET always tried to serve the masses by providing quality education laced with values and ethics.
Mr. Jitender Narula, Assistant Registrar IRC-UHVE, IKG PTU was the key note speaker for the workshop. He shared that this workshop will primarily aim to evolve a concrete future plan for taking ‘Values’ & ‘Skills’ together. The workshop will further seek to define the role of all stakeholders Viz. University, Colleges, Teachers and Students etc. Mr. Jitender Narula also shared about the PG Programs which is running at the IRC-UHVE.
