Distributed more than 200 Chilli-Pepper Spray
Jalandhar 8 October (Jaswinder Azad)- CT Group of Institutions & Jalandhar Police Commissionerate distributed Chilli-Pepper sprays to the girl students for their self defense at SD College for Women. Besides, a seminar on Self Defense and Women Safety was given organized at this event. Commissioner of Police Sh. Arpit Shukla, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ms. Deepika Singh, Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group of Institutions) alongwith other Police officials and dignitaries shared their salubrious thoughts on women empowerment and girl power with the girls.
While interacting with the students, Commissioner of Police Sh. Arpit Shukla said that many laws have been enacted so far to protect women from various crimes. Empowerment of women could only be achieved if their economic and social status is improved. This could be possible only by adopting definite social and economic policies with a view of total development of women and to make them realize that they have the potential to be strong human beings. Women have proved themselves as equals in many professions as well as proved themselves even better suited than men in some.
During the seminar, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ms. Deepika Singh said that girls should be fully equipped with their self defense techniques and tools. For that purpose, we with CT Group of Institutions are distributing these sprays, she said, “Girls should be careful about the use of these sprays and should be used only when they found something suspicious otherwise these sprays could be dangerous.” She also appreciated CT Group of Institutions for their commendable support in bridging gap between the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate and the residents. She said, “We would surely continue our ventures to inform and educate people with CT Group of Institutions in the future as well.”
Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group of Institutions) also advocated the implementation of Self Defense among the girls for their safety and in order to cut down the numbers of crimes against them.
