Jalandhar 19 December (Jaswinder Azad)- A social outreach activity, which is a sincere effort to discover and develop new horizons and brighter ways for women-empowerment has been planned during this winter at KMV-the Heritage Institution. Kaushal Kendra at KMV the only one amongst the colleges of GNDU under Skill Development Scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development granted by UGC has organized free Jagriti eighteen days Winter Camp (19 Dec, 2016 to 6 Jan, 2017) which has begun today. The camp comprises of programmes like Computer & Mobile Learning, Stitching and Painting, Cookery Classes & health Check-up, Diet plan and Yoga, Script/ Content Writing and Personality Development. Age is no bar for women/ girls, who can join anyone of the programmes of their own interest. This camp will initiate on a serious platform a healthy and progressive dialogue on all the various programmes offered at the Camp. The wide variety of programmes offered aims to expand economic self-dependence opportunities for women, advance their practical knowledge and inculcate the qualities of public leadership and decision-making. Creating avenues of employment is the key thrust are which will be achieved through imparting maximum practical knowledge related to all the programmes at the camp. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the concerted efforts of Dr. Gopi Sharma, Director, KMV Kaushal Kendra for having organized such a rewarding activity with futuristic vision. She said that the camp will positively make more women self-reliant and more socially productive so that they can make a substantial contribution towards building of a stronger, health in social fabric. She exhorted the Kaushal Kendra to keep organizing such events in future as well. She also congratulated more than 70 participants who had registered themselves in various programmes for begin in the right- place at the right time.
