KMV Collaborates with lead Fashion Designer

Jalandhar 15 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar with a legacy of 131 years of unparalleled standing in the education sector is entering into various industry tie-ups and collaboration to enhance skill development in various vocational subjects.  In this continuing pursuit KMV’s P.G. Department of Fashion Designing, successfully running the B.Voc Programme in Textile Design and Apparel Technology has signed an MoU with Mr. Deepak Singh, Director, One Design Solutions Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi and Joint Director and Head, Media Design Cell, Institute of Apparel Management, Apparel House, Gurgaon.  Deepak Singh is a designer of great distinction, an alumina of NIFT and NID, he started, his career asan independent design consultant.  He has served as Chief Designer and Project head for export promotion Council for Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.  He received his initial experience in Paris based design firm Infordesign and later worked with Gurman and Philippine Designers in various international design projects.
KMV in the tie-up with Mr. Deepak Singh has envisioned an association which will be time bound with milestones assigned to various time slots.  The various proposal services will be to promote graphic design and branding, to conduct exhibition, design and displays at national and international level, to promote an identity of the Department with the corporate associates, to have regular industry interface with seminars and workshops on design with the ‘best’ in the industry, to establish prayaas, as an online brand to cater to online selling to a wider world customer base, to showcase collection of students at national and international fashion shows and the general uplift and makeover of the department with global design sensibility.  Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi the visionary behind the initiative averred that we are entering into collaborations with lead fashion designer and this is the one in series.  She congratulated Mrs. Harpreet Kaur and the team of faculty member of the PG Dept. of F.D. on establishing this tie-up.
