Jalandhar 5 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Noted Punjabi Poet Sulakhan Sarhaddi honoured with ‘Kewal Vig Award’ of the year 2016 for their dedicated, devoted and sincere contributions in the sphere of Punjabi Ghazal as Best Poet and Mohan Sharma, who penned down 19 Books in Punjabi literature, made his campaign against drugs abuse in his six books as Best Writer respectively.
In a press release, Jatinder Mohan Vig, Chairman of Kewal Vig Foundation said that Kewal Vig Memorial Award was instituted since 1994, in the memory of late Kewal Vig, founder editor of Punjabi magazine ‘Janta Sansar’. On every death anniversary of Late Mr. Kewal Vig, these awards presented. The presentation ceremony of this year was held at K.L. Saigal Memorial Hall. It is mentioned that 53 personalities of Literature had already been receipents of this award so far.
Sulakhan Sarhaddi is well known writer, who is dedicated to improve the present status of Punjabi Ghazal, techinique, use of words. Sh. Mohan Sharma, is an typical writer who feels the Punjab state’s drugs sitution and write down six books how to save the Punjab from the drugs. Both will be citations, momentos and shawls for their exemplary contributions.
