Jalandhar 27 January (Jaswinder Azad)- A ‘signature campaign’ for voter awareness was organised at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus on Friday under the SVEEP programme of the district administration. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) accorded a warm welcome to Chief Guest Sh. KK Yadav, IAS (Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer).
Sh. K.K. Yadav briefed the audience regarding the use of their right to vote so that they could elect dedicated candidates to serve the nation. He motivated young voters of the college and staff members to make right use of their vote. He also encouraged staff members and students of the college to create awareness regarding the right use of their vote among people living in slum areas. He further addressed the students regarding the duty of voting for the election to select an ideal representative to form the government. He also told the students about the NOTA option
Also, to sensitize younger generation about the importance of voting, students presented nukkad natak and enlightened everyone about democratic sensitization of Indian citizens. Staff and students pledged together to cast their votes. The aim of the event was to make students aware about the proper usage of their right to vote, irrespective of class, caste and creed. Sh. KK Yadav, IAS (Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer) also flagged off the Voting awareness vehicle from the CT Shahpur Campus that will address the queries of the voters and will motivate them to cast their vote on February 4.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) motivated students to cast their votes and contribute towards nation building. He addressed the students regarding the duty of voting for electing an ideal representative to form a competent government. Moh Hanif (SSP, Indian Postal Services), Rajiv Verma (SDM I-Jalandhar), Surjit Lal (District Guidance and Counsellor), Watan Singh, Lead District Manager, DPRO, and other administrative officers of the DC office were also present at the event.
