Jalandhar 20 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Voters in Punjab would witness the voter assistance booths at all polling stations during Assembly Election-2017 to facilitate the voters to cast their vote in a smooth, hassle free manner. District Election Officer Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav today said that as per the instruction of Election Commission of India, it was decided to set up voter assistance booths at all 1830 Polling Stations across the 9 Assembly Segments. He said that a team of personnel will be appointed for each such booth with the objective of facilitating the voters to locate his/her particular polling booth and the serial number of the voter in that electoral Roll in the concerned polling booth. He said that it was also directed to the all Returning Officers to provide basic furniture including tables chairs for seating of deployed staff, tent with proper shade and prominent signage in the form of back drop banner indicated "Voter Assistance Booth" and directional sign for guidance of the voters.
