Jalandhar 17 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen is organizing 2-day International Conference on Recent Advances for Quality Enhancement in Science and Technology on 16th – 17th January, 2017. On second day of International Conference, during planery session II, Dr. Prashanth Suravejhala from Aarhus University, Denmark presented his invited talk on “Ethics and three Cs – Consistency, Continuity and Credibility in research”. Prof. Satya Narain from Dilla University, Dilla Ehtiopia focused primarily on assessment of different aquatic plants in terms of their pollutant removal potential.
Ms. Sarinder Kaur Dhillon from Malaya University, Kaulalumpur talked on “Recent Computational Advances in Bioinformatics”, Prof. Madhu S. Minhas (Director, Consulting Services, Space Programmes) Canada, interacted with delegates through video conferencing on space/satellite based telecommunication advances. Prof. Ahmed Fawzy Elbot (Agricultural Research Centre, Giza, Egypt) discussed about Genome – wide association studies for quantitative and qualitative traits in Aegilops tauschli. Prof. Sanjay Puri from JNU delivered his talk on kinetics of phase transition. Gurcharan Kaur from GNDU Amritsar gave her valuable talk on “Unwinding Nature’s Recipes fro Health”. Planery Sessions and technical sessions were chaired by Prof. Ahmed Fawzy Elbot, Prof. Satya Narain and Prof. Gurcharan Kaur.
In the valedictory session, Dr. A.K. Paul, Vice Chancellor DAV University was the chief guest and Dr. R.K. Mahajan, Dean College Development Council, GNDU Amritsar was the Guest of Honour. They congratulated Management, Principal and Staff for organizing such mega event on science. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen thanked all resource persons, paper presenters, delegates and guests and congratulated the science faculty to make the international conference a great success.
In this conference, more than 150 papers were presented and around 200 delegates participated. In Physical sciences, Damandeep Kaur of KMV got the best poster presentation award in Research category and Riddhi Salotra and Priya Kumari of HMV got the best poster presentation in student category. In Biological science, Kanika Khanna of GNDU got the best poster presentation award in research category. Mandeep Kaur Sandhu, DAV University got the best oral presentation award.
A visit to Shree Devi Talab Temple and Rangla Punjab was also organized for the resource persons and delegates. Mrs. Jyoti Kaul presented vote of thanks. On this occasion, Convener of the conference Dr. Meenakshi Sayal, Organizing Secretary Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Event Coordinator Mrs. Rakesh Uppal, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Aparna, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Mr. Harpreet Singh and all other members of science faculty were also present.
