- Former Indian ambassador to China, Shri ASHOK KANTHA
Jalandhar 20 February (Gurkirat Singh)-" The entire expertise of both the nations agree on the fact that we need to continue the talks and communication process inspite of all the attacks and obstacles, so as to stabilize the ups and downs from past so long and to establish an exemplary peaceful atmosphere in western Asia. Relations between contemporary China and India have been characterised by border disputes, resulting in three military conflicts-the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the Chola incident in 1967, and the 1987 Sino-Indian skirmish. However, since the late 1980s, both countries have successfully rebuilt diplomatic and economic ties. In 2008, China became India's largest trading partner and the two countries have also extended their strategic and military relations."-Shri ASHOK Kantha
"We need to understand and correlate that we both share same cultures and historical background , and undoubtedly we have the power and capacity to establish commercial and non commercial relations with each other "-Shri Ashok Kantha
" It's a matter of great pride and an overwhelming moment for all of us to have the distinguished presence of our bright personality and former Ambassador To China Shri Ashok amongst us, his presence is like a festival for our institution "-Principal Dr SK ARORA
"The Indian attempts of enhancing peace love and brotherhood between the 2 nations would continue for the times to come, until love and friendship isn't reinstated between the 2 neighbours "-Mrs Madhuri Sondhi

Shri Ashok said India wants good relations with china". coming to our relations with China I acknowledge that the relationship is at present under stress. however if you step back and take an objective and long term view the overall report card for India China relations will come across as quite impressive. the leaders of both India and China are invested in fostering a constructive engagement between the two countries. this is reflected in the remarkable frequency of high level exchanges my period xjp visit to India in September 2014 and PM Modi's visit to China in 2015 symbolismng to our relations with china. I acknowledge that the relationship is at a substantial outcome, because of the joint effort India China relations have developed in a comprehensive manner. major economic component in the relationship of sub National cooperation between provinces and cities has emerged as a potent instrument for skating a bilateral engagement border areas are peaceful people to people relation expanded greatly. I want to check that some recalibrated and reimaging of the paradigm relationship is called fo. r let me offer some suggestions on we should build on and update the basic template of the relationship jointly adopted by the two countries since the late 1980. this paradigmatic approach involved compartmentalizing and managing difference is not letting them come in the way of development of positive engagement and of exploring areas of convergence , cooperation and collaboration in bilateral regional and multilateral means domain, it has served as well. This brings me to my second suggestion the imperative constantly in the positive contents of the relationship otherwise we run the risk of negative dominating the idea of bilateral otherwise we run the risk of negative dominating the agent of bilateral discourse. economic engagement is also undergoing transition as we have reached limit of the earlier model that relied on increasing the asymmetric trade expansion investment. E-Commerce and services have emerged as new drivers of growth as trade in goods especially exports have stagnated. I would suggest that we can be more ambitious in setting and implementing the agenda of bilateral cooperation this is particularly true for developmental partnership. Thirdly while exploring opportunities for collaboration it is important to remain present in our approach present Chinese Expectations and realisties and explore synergies. fourthly we need to follow fresh agenda for our collaboration on unilateral multilateral and global issues preceding from common interest. the two largest developing economies and sovereignty conscious state have created convergence in the interests and concerns that it is widely recognised in conclusion. let me point out that India and China still consider this to be a period of opportunity in the relationship. both have a desire to project bilateral relations in a positive light even though they have a doubt about each others strategic intentions. They recognise the effect of competition but the other adversary both are concentrating on the developments and Desire confrontation with each other today .India China relations are suffering from and overhang of differences and suspiciousness but it is desirable to take the relation at a forward looking perspective. Arpit Shukla Commissioner of Police, quoted that India is a country which holds a large percentage of the population in this world but we are lucky enough to have people like Ambassador Shree Ashok who with his expertise and professionalism enrich us with his aura and knowledge of wisdom and experience . It was a great time listening to such a great personality and that too on such sensitive issues and being a part of such young crowd , i feel so young and blessed
