Scholarship provided to Community College students in HMV

Jalandhar 14 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Second batch session 2015-16 of Advance Diploma in Fashion Designing were awarded Rs.1000/- per month scholarship by Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen after successful completion of their first year of the course. Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is running a two year Advance Diploma in Fashion Designing under community college scheme of UGC> Nodal Officer and Dean Academics Dr. Minakshi Syal informed that the course run under this scheme has flexible entry and exit at certificate, diploma and advance diploma level. The course is not only evaluated by the course is not only evaluated by the college but is also evaluated by Ministry of HRD. Any female of any age group and any stream with a minimum qualification of SSC II can take admission in this course. Students are taken to different industries from time to time, along with this, experts from different fields keep on visiting and fortify students knowledge by guest lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences. The college has tied up for the course with various industries like SP Garments, Vision and beyond, Garg Acrylics, Anmol Fabrics, Ankita Impex, Kanz Knits Pvt. Ltd., Saachi Processors Pvt. Ltd., GK Apparels, VH Synthetics, Tungsten Fashions, Attrax Clothing, KOC Industries etc. for internships and job placements which is provided to the students during and after the completion of the course respectively.  The students get a scholarship of Rs.1000/- per month after completion of the course. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen further added that such skill oriented course are the demand of time where more and more of people are taking admission to such courses. She also congratulated and appreciated HOD of Fashion Design Mrs. Cheena Gupta and course coordinator Mrs. Navneet along with the students for the successful completion of the first year of the course.
