Students learn about Woodcut Prints and Painting during Second day of ‘Maestros del Arte’

Jalandhar 10 February (Gurkirat Singh)- On the second day of ‘Maestros del Arte’, a three day workshop organized by Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, the students learned a lot about the intricate nuances involved in the technique of paintings and print-making The Chief Resource Persons of this workshop were Prof. Nagdas, a renowned artist and print maker from India Kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya, Kherragarh and Chattisgarh and famous painter professor Pranam Singh. The students were very enthusiastic during the second day of the workshop and professor Nagdas and Professor Pranam Singh acquainted the students with the delicacies involved in woodcut prints and paintings. Prof. Nagdas said that the woodcut prints are immensely popular in visual arts and their usage will surely benefit the students. He enlightened the students by extensively telling them about composition and various concepts involved ini the work of art. The students were mesmerized to see the art-works of Professor Nagdas which presented a panorama of modern man’s insecure life. According to him, ‘I don’t know mystery of God, But I know Misery of man’ forms the essence of his works. During the workshop, Painter Pranam Singh taught the students the art of sketching and painting by using different mediums like water colour, acrylic colour and charcoal stick. He acquainted the students with composition and various other concepts related with painting. Principal, Dr. Sucharita applauded the efforts of the artist and thanked them for teaching the students the intricate technique involved in wood-cut prints and paintings. She said that the students will learn a lot under the patronage of such artists and this workshop will be an apt platform to nurture their skill and talent.
