Jalandhar 7 March (Jaswinder Azad)- At Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, International Design Week 2017 which started from 28th February 2017 onwards where renowned art directors and creative designers from Netherlands and Belgium participated and shared their expertise with students finally concluded with the valedictory ceremony.
Creative designers from Netherlands Mr. Rene Pijninburg, Mr. Ge Smit, Mr. Peter shared their experiences with design students and expressed their happiness for visiting Apeejay. Throughout the week, the students exhibited a lot of enthusiasm and interacted lively with the experts who guided them to look for new perspectives to their ideas and find out creative solution. Several innovative projects on themes like how to make your city clean, Education, Buildings, Cycling Tracks, Over bridges, Clean Chaupati, Smart City were discussed by the experts. The chief attraction of the International Design Week was the fashion show ‘Lavanya 2017’ which was immensely enjoyed by the students and people of the City.
Principal, Dr. Sucharita expressed her gratitude towards the designers from Netherlands for mentoring the students and acquainting them with the intricate nuances of architecture and design. She also applauded the efforts of B.D., B.FA., B.M.M., Fine Arts Departments for successfully conducting the design week She said that International Design Week was really an enriching experience for the students and would surely serve as a suitable platform to hone the creative skills of the students.
