KMV Collegiate Science students visit Science City, Kapurthala

Jalandhar 16 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Keeping in mind that visits/ excursion to certain places a highly educative experience it itself a one day trip to Science City, Kapurthala was organized by Department of Physics of KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar.  About 160 science students of 10+1 and 10+2 accompanied by 6 teachers visited various educational galleries like Earthquake simulator, flight simulator, Dome Theatre, 3-D show & climate change theatre etc.  Students also visited space & Aviation gallery where they watched models on aircraft & satellites, space shuttles.  They also watched fun science exhibitions where around 100 assorted interactive exhibits have been designed fabricated and clustered together on the basis of basic science themes.  Students visited the energy saving education and awareness park where there are various exhibits to demonstrate the uses of various forms of non-conventional energy sources such as Solar energy, wind energy, bio energy and nuclear energy students also cherished their visit to the sports gallery where there were various applications of scientific principles in sports.  A unique experience of students was the visit to climate change theatre showing videos based on effects of global warming.  They were also delighted to watch static & moving fibre glass objects alongwith special light & sound effect.
The trip was  a heady amalgamation of science, fun & learning and made all the three seem to be inseparable.  The basic achievements was watching working of advanced & complicated equipment & seeing its application in real life.   Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the organizes for having arranged for such a fruitful excursion.
