Jalandhar 26 July (Gurkirat Singh)- On the occasion of Kargil Victory Day Commerce Forum of Dav College organised an event " SALUTING THE HEROES" to pay homage floral tributes to the MARTYRS of Kargil war. On this occasion Principal Dr S.K. Arora in his message said "...the sacrifices laid down by the martyrs should be a source of inspiration for others". He quoted "we should pay due respect to the sacrifices of the soldiers engaged on border's security , because for the sake of our peace and security they lay down their lives". They are someone's husband , someone's son and father and we should not forget the martyrs families because only this is the true essence of celebrating the country's victory. The function was organized in the college premises and 2 minutes SILENCE was kept to pay tributes to the martyrs. HOD of Commerce department and Vice Principal Prof. V K Sareen in his message said "May be they are not present among us, but their memories will forever remain alive... ". Prof. Ekjot Kaur (President Commerce Forum) while paying tributes to the martyrs said this day is meant to pay respect and heartily tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives happily for their country to secure our future ". The Members of Commerce Forum took an oath in which they pledged " We swear to carry forward the thought process and remain enthusiastic for our country with which our heroes for the sake and prestige of our nation laid down their lives ". Students of the college showed their full enthusiasm by singing songs ans reciting poems. My FM RJ Vikas was also a part of this occation.Where he took interview of the students. Prof Rajan entertained everyone with a patrotic song.
