Jalandhar 27 September (Gurkirat Singh)- Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar was felicitated by Lions Club for her colossal endeavours to educate, empower and emancipate society and for her noble contribution to social and envoironmental causes with her exemplary vision, Prof Sharma has played a pivotal role in the betterment of society. Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi was bestowed the Award of Excellence for exemplary Social Service by Lions Club. Mr. Kamaljeet Singh, President, Lions Club and members Mr Mann Singh, Dr.Jaswant Rai, Mr. Makhan Singh and Mr. Ashwani Sehgal were present on the occassion. Receiving the award Prof. Sharma maintained that in the contemporary scenario human beings are busy in materialistic pursuits. They forget to pay back to the society which has given them too much. But it is the need of the hour that we should pay some attention to the social and environmental issues which if left unattended can wreak havoc. Philanthrophy and altruistim can make this world a better place to live in. She appreciated the Lions Club for being the champion crusaders of social causes. Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi has been richly awarded for her noble pursuits by National and International organizations earlier.
