Jalandhar 30 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the heritage institution, Jalandhar (Autonomous) keeps on organsing various extention activities from time to time to broaden the mental horizons of its students. The P.G.Department of English at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized an Extention lecture by Dr.Tejinder Kaur, Professor of English (Retd). Department of Distance education, Punjabi University, Patilala. Dr.Tejinder Kaur is also the Former Head, Depatment of Distance Education & Director, Centre for Diaspora Studies at Punjabi University , Patiala. The erudite scholar shared her valuable insights and experiences on the topic Gender and Literature with the student of M.A.English, B.A.Hons. School in English, B.A. Hons.(English ) and B.A.Elective English. She was extended floral greetings by the Principal, Prof.Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi and Head of P.G.Department of English, Mrs.Seema Jain. Dr.Tejinder Kaur elaborated for the students and the faculty members, how the gender distinctions are visible in Literature across the ages. She highlighted the close connection between life and literature and the need for giving equal opportunities and basic human dignity to people of all genders including the third gender.The students and the faculty members interacted with the resource person after the lecture in a two-way question-answer session.On this occasion the members present were Dr.Madhumeet, Mrs.Satinder Kaur, Mrs.Vanila, Mrs.Shalini Gulati, Ms.Seema Arora, Dr.Deepika Anand, Dr.Reena Sharma, Mr.Jaideep, Dr.Ranjeet, Mrs.Preeti, Mrs.Anubha, Mrs.Barjinder Kaur and Ms.Tejasvini.
