Jalandhar 3 November (Jaswinder Azad)- History was repeated by Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar when it bagged the overall GuruNanakDevUniversity Youth Festival Championship for the 18th time in a row at GNDU, Amritsar campus during Inter-Zonal Youth Festival 2017 held from 31st October to 3rd November, 2017. The College which is dedicated to the promotion of various Indian artforms stood true to its objective, beating 76 participating colleges affiliated to GNDU by a glaring margin of 78 marks during the Youth Festival. It bagged all the individual trophies also viz. Folk, Music, Theatre, Literary and Fine Arts standing 1st in 25 items, 2nd in 6 items and 3rd in 1item.The beaming and vibrant Apeejayites wore a triumphant look as their hard work had paid off reasserting their supremacy as Undisputed Champions in the cultural field.
Principal Dr. SucharitaSharma whole heartedly congratulated the talented students for their exemplary accomplishment and said that participating in Youth Festivalsprovides the most suitable platform to the Youth for displaying their talent. It is also a great learning experience. She expressed her gratitude to Dr.ArunMishra, Cultural Coordinator and Dr.AmitaMishra, Dean, Youth Welfare Department of the College for their commitment and dedication. She added that their tireless efforts in grooming the students to perfection have borne fruit. She also appreciated the efforts of the participating students particularly AnadiMishra who had composed Western Group Song and had also contributed in guiding the students of the Music Department.
