Jalandhar 29 December (Jaswinder Azad)- NSS Unit of DAV College,Jalandhar organised a 7days camp from 20 December to 26th December. In which more than 100 volunteers participated in this. Volunteers here white washed the trees,applied teraqota paint and managed green belt in the area of DAV College.
In this camp students have overall development of mind and and body. With the physical hard work and intellectual session they turned themselves into a better human being. In the intellectual session Team of disaster managment,Dr Ashwani Sharma,Dr Mandeep Singh(Dentist),Sh.Ravi Paul(Assistant Director Youth Services) and Dr Satvir Singh(Eye specialist) gave seminar to students to make their life better.
On the fourth day of camp, NSS volunteers along with their teachers went to Slum Area Locality of Gandhi Nagar Ram Nagar Jalandhar.Here they organised a Free Eye Checkup Camp sponsored by Akal Eye Hospital,Jalandhar.Along with free checkup volunteers marched a rally for awareness against social evils and promote the slogan of Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan.
Cheif guest for the final day was District Collector,Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma.Who was impressed by the hard work of the students and congratulated the faculty of the college too. With a motivational talk the chief guest told students to be a good citizen and always contribute to the betterment of the society.
Overall camper award was given to Sehajpreet Singh and 10 volunteers were given special trophy for their hardwork in the camp. Prof SK Midha Co-ordinator of NSS unit gave the camp report of these 7days.
Vice Prinicpal appriciated the work of the unit in his speech and thanked the cheif guest. On this following teachers were present SK Midha(NSS Co-ordinator),Prof Rajan,Prof Meenu Talwar ,Prof Bhuwan Lamba and Prof Hemant.
